Luciano,

You can always make your own trowel for curved surfaces.

I have done this for skim work once. I have seen other guys do this as well. Take a guage tool, you can get em at the hardware store, put it to the ceiling and get an idea of the curve. Trace that onto a solid piece of plastic, cut it out, sand the edges smooth and you have a true to the arch trowel. I have cut up a 5 gallon bucket once for my radius and it worked out nice.

Use the side of the bucket. Sounds silly but it works.

I wouldnt want to do a lime base up there on a dome,...risky. I would go Veneziano, or Ramano.

Its tricky to burnish lime even on a flat surface. I would try and push the resin base.

Luciano,

I am not shure I got your question. If the point is how to apply lime on heavily curved surfaces there are a few methods, all of which allow the shiny look, none -as far as I know- allowing the reproduction of the classic spatulae strokes.

One of our leading customers with Calcenova Arredo explained to me that in difficult situations he dilutes Calcenova Arredo 30% with water and brushes it on. Once it is at the right drying phase instead of using an inox trowel he rubs the wall with a plastic bag filled with sawdust.

Did I get your point right ?

A plastic bag to burnish?? I will have to give that a try. When I burnish calcenova arredo with the Scott's rags I get peeling.

Lisa,
If it is peeling, you are either putting it on too thick or burnishing way too early.
