Can Firmonovo & Prim be used to prep a wall for using a brand (Texston) of veneziano other than Safra? The wall has a simi-gloss paint and I don't want to sand. I'm in the process of becoming familiar with applying Safra's product using the video, studying the handbook, and trial & error, and each practice board looks better and better, but I'm comfortable with Texston and have 2 pending projects using its technique and product (the clients like the look). These are my first official jobs which evolved from their having seen the work in my home. I can't wait to master/become profecient in the application of Safra's Stucco Veneziano. In fact, I'm open for suggestions regarding eleminating any and all lines in the finished layer as well as any additional tips for producing a glorious finish. My schedule hasn't allowed me to take the class...yet!

Not sure what Prim is. Also is this a high shine plaster?

Ooops! My spelling leaves a lot to be desired. Safra's Primer. Yes, it is a high shine plaster that can be applied directly over flat or satin paint.

I would recommend either use a pole sander with 180 grit sand paper to give the wall some tooth


or just apply a coat of flat paint and proceed with the Texston Method of application.

Firmonovo is not needed for this situation.
