Curtis, do you have a close up of the Calcenova over knock down?

Here is a picture of the textured calcenova. I did the two and half coats then waxed with interference gold mixed in liberon.

I forgot to add: I did the first coat in S.W. nomadic desert and the 2nd and 3rd coats in a bi-color nomadic desert and latte.

In regard to the question of venzi over prontomuro: I did a sample board from a tip by another applicator that is several coats of venzi over pronto. Michael Rosatto? made a bathroon wall look like granite. You just pull the venzi in a diagonal down the wall and then feather it out. Subsequent lighter colors create the different striations. The pronto grabs and creates a real cool look. I've not attempted the finish on a full wall yet but the day is coming soon.

Here is another example of Venzie going over Prontomuro L I really liked the effect and had no trouble working it.

And here is one more....Venzie over prontoL. I have also done the venzie over knockdown texture...I just use that pattern that exists with my primer....doing a lot of skip troweling and get some really good effects. It is not a smooth surface, but I was not going for that. I will have to locate those pictures and post. I have found the Venzie doesn't have to be smooth on all applications

Here is the Venzie over knock down texture that I recently did in a dining room. This is an example where i took advantage of the existing texture and just added to it with skip troweling the primer to get the pattern I wanted. Then I continued skip troweling differnt colors of venzie over that....charcoal, reddish brown, copper, bronze, gold and then a thin layer of watered down green. Seems like a lot of colors, but because I was skip troweling randomly, it went fast.

You're welcome. Gl;ad it went well for you. Melody Awesome pics! Are these an actual job or just sample boards? |

Charlie,
The two top ones are samples...I did a column in a finish just like the top one, but the pictures didn't turn out good...have to go get more taken, but looks exactly like it. The bottom photo is of a dining room that has a 20" band running around the top of the room. The client wanted something with an airy feel that goes with her decor at the coast....wanted metallics and greens, but not too much, so this is what we came up with. |

Melody,
That 3rd sample posted here is killer! I'd love to see the photos of that job!! Curtis, love yours as well! The first sort of mimics the look of valentino, at least from the pic. The 2nd looks like rock....wow. Nancy M. |

I will look and see if I still have the photos of the room...It was a 20" band with trim, going around the top of the room. I actually took photos step by step as I applied each layer so I could share...then was not pleased with how the lighting on the photos turned out. I deleted a lot and think I still may have some on the camera. The other two were done sorta to mimic the Valentino, but was trying to complement some rocks that they would be near. I used the Venzie because it was on an outside column.
I agree I do like Curtis' sample also.....I need to try one like that! |
