No. First level the surface with joint compount. Them prime. Then start your application process. Good luck

I've used Calcenova Aredo over knock down before. I used three coats and it turned out very rustic looking. There is a picture of it on the gallery if you care to look. I'm sure the venzi would look similar.

Steve, yes I am. I almost forgot that I waxed it with interference gold mica. It really made it pop. That particular house is in the spring parade of homes this week.

I have done Prontomuro and then Veneziano on top. You will need to do 2 coats of primer if you want smooth.

it's on the gallery under Curtis Dunning - textured Calcenova - I used two or three coats right over the knock down and then waxed it with interference gold mica mixed in Liberon wax. You're welcome to call me if you have any questions 816-387-1976

Tkank you Curtis, I am doing it with out applying the compound. Doesn't look smooth, it looks more rustic like you said, but the customer like it. The one thing I noticed that absorve more plaster than usually.
Thanks again...

Sorry that I failed to mention that. Yes, you will definitely use more product. But I like the rustic look and the client was very happy with the results.

One of the first words that pops in my heard Cindi is expensive. Using the primer to fill in the texture.
