Hi anyone got any opinnions of my first job. i know it wont be the highest of standards but everyone seemed really pleased.

Looks good to me and if your customer was happy then the job is perfect!

Thanks Melody, On looking at this site there is a lot of expert jargon that kinda scared me off a bit. took a bit of courage to put the pics up but glad i did. seems a lot of do the course in italy or america but when you haven't got the money you have to try with the english courses.thanks again for the kind words.

Stu....you should be proud of what you did...it sure doesn't look like it is your first job! You have a great gift to be able to put the kind of pattern or movement in that you did. It looks very natural, like stone or granite. In fact that is a good source to practice from, the granite and marble samples that you can look up on line or at the stores that sell the stones. Keep up the great work....I'll be watching!

well i dont know what to say. thanks for the praise.It's always nice to get. really i suppose it's a case of trying to get work in england. Not many people heard of it up here in the north east so it would be nice to really get it going.

I have just joined the forum today, I have a love of polished plaster and it looks like you have recently started a business in this which is what I am in the process of doing with a friend. How is it going?

Your first job looks great.

You did a great job in color, design and style of the plaster you chose to complement the marble. Press on you did good! I am always fearful of showing things I have done but the people here are really helpful in whatever area you need help in.

The client hired you because they loved your sample boards, not some other applicators. So there really is no "set standard". Every hand is different, and that's why it's so special. It's a hand crafted design, one that can't likely be repeated by anyone but you. What counts most is whether or not your client was pleased. If they were happy, that's all that matters.

There really isn't much call for venetian over here i'm finding so theres not a fight for applicators.unless i'm a bit green! Finding it hard to get people to give venetian a go. Thanks for your comments and also everyone who has took the time to reply.

Hi Stu....I have been away on the coast working on that same project I told you about, but will stay home next week and will get an e-mail off to you and we can go over some more techniques and applications that might sell there in the UK. I have several applications that should be easy to duplicate and don't mind sharing. Talk to you soon and don't give up.
