I just recenlty put up a plaster finish on a wall (Americanclay.com) and I want to hang a picture on it.

I think Ive seen a way to hang a picture from the ceiling? I know there are victorian picture hangers that use a rail - but has anyone a source for something like this???

Can't you just put a nail in the wall. Linda and I did a job a few years ago. The client called us back to bid another room 3 weeks later. When we got there I asked how come they had not hung their pictures yet. They told me they were afraid that it would make the wall crack. I told them the wall would not crack.
I have not used this particular product, but have never seen the wall crack unless the original wall was plaster and they already had a problem with the wall cracking.

Doyle,

Thanks! Yeah - I guess I left out something important. The clay covers a brick and mortor fireplace. We had a molley in there but lost track of it.

Thanks!

drill a pilot hole with a mortar bit, set your anchor and your set.
The mortar metal expanding anchors are really strong.
