Hi everyone. I was wondering what the procedure is to completely change the color of a vp wall. I don't know what brand or type of vp was used before. I need to repair damaged areas and change the color slightly. I'd appreciate any info since I wont be able to get to Georgia for a class just yet.

Hi Michaela,

Welcome to plaster Talk!

Repairing an unknown plaster is not advisable. I suggest that you prime the wall and start fresh.
You may need to lightly sand the wall first if it is glossy. You can then use whatever plaster color you want to.

Hope it goes well!

Hi,

Yes, Zinsser Bullseye 123 water based primer is a very good primer/sealer. That's what I would use.

Hope it goes well!
