a good waterbased acrylic sealer woud definitely reduce dramatically (or nearly all) the absorbtion of any basecoat, lime included.
Just check that lime doesn't drink completely the sealer itself (it's a joke). Eventually consider applying two coats of acrilic sealer, overdiluting the first coat.

Greetings to all;
I am a graduate of the October 2003 class, and my life has not been the same since!! My background is varied - my dad and his brother, father and grandfather were all self-employed & had solid reputations in the wallpaper trade, as well as decorating. My dad taught me to hang wallpaper by the time I was about eight, and all forms of art and drawing were always a primary focus for me throughout my early life & education. I have always preferred to learn whatever technique I needed to create what I imagined, or to re-create something I had seen or been inspired by...so by now I have become fairly competent with various skills - from hand-thrown & wheel pottery, stained glass, quilting, stenciling & faux finishes, to making wooden decorative accents & small furniture. To "pay the bills" I have worked in the printing business for more than 26 years...and finally at the age of 42 I feel as if discovering Italian Plastering has somehow completed a circle for all of my fragmented talents. I have never been quite so inspired to learn and create, until now never able to use all of my unique artistic and business talents in quite the way I have since forming my plastering business last year.
The unexpected bonus is having the opportunity to be trained & now work with the amazing team of Doyle & Linda who have created an environment of enthusiasm, support & exchange of ideas that give each of us the BEST competitive edge; along with the outstanding Safra products that to me are purely magical.
Having also been fortunate enough to have travelled to many parts of europe with my mom starting at age ten (travel is another passion of mine) I have a strong appreciation of the authentic materials, traditonal methods, ancient architecture, foreign cultures.
The SOIP class last year has sparked a journey I would not have imagined taking, but clearly some act of destiny has me on this path now and I couldnt be more thrilled to accept the next challenge!
THANK YOU DOYLE & LINDA!!!
Wishing everyone true success,

Leslie Salka

Hi Scott,
True, my first venetiano project was a large master bath along with a guest bath & ceiling...it was indeed a great WOOHOO moment surveying my finished work, amazing satisfaction both artistically as well as personally. No matter the physical demands, the finished results always give me more than enough motivation for the NEXT!!

I must take this opportunity to tell you that I greatly admire your work Scott; I have visited your website & gallery many times for inspiration!!
Its a real treat to be involved with so many talented individuals, its my endeavor to remain an enthusiastic contributor, perpetual student & an artisan who can be proud of what this mind & these two hands can create!

:@) Best wishes to all!
Leslie
