I am going to coat another (3rd) layer of venetian plaster (purchase from Home Depot)on my walls, but I noticed a few rough area's. Can I sand in between layers of plaster?

I just have a couple of questions now.

So, sanding between layers will not have any affect on the final look of the walls.

What are some of the reason why someone would sand between layers (and I am using HD brand of Venetian plaster)
I am still so new at this and just want to make sure I am going about this right.

Thank you for all your help

You don't want to make more work for yourself then necessary. Just sand down the high edges you were conserned about.

You can sand each layer and apply over and over because HD Behr is an acrylic paint. If you want a perfectly smooth wall with no bumps of the plaster or ridges just sand them down or knock them down with a blade.

ALSO, wear a respirator. A good one, not those cheap paper ones.

Try to apply the plaster as thin as possible, this will help in not creating the need to sand.
