I am having trouble geeting even venetian plaster layers in corners and on beaded edges of walls - does anyone know a technique?

Just use your finger. It seems to work well for me.

Yes, the finger is the best way for corners, but I use a tool that I use in the kichen....
Is a sponge for multitude of uses with corners...
I can't tell you in english but if you understand spanish....Son unas esponjas que tienen la misma curva de las esquinas...
