Yes you can go right over a brick fireplace. I think Velnova would be best.

I would Just make sure all glue is off of surface. Prime and then apply Prontomuro. From there you have quite a few options.

I just saw your question here,

The machine you are talking about is the Sheen machine for washability/scrubbability according to the ASTM-D2486 standard (American Society for Testing and Materials).

It is not an "international" standard but most countries without a standard accept it and many important international architectural companies are American.....in the end ASTM is quite popular a little bit everywhere, especially in the Asian region.



We made the ASTM D2486 washabilty test (No scrubbabilty). After 50.000 cycles over Veneziano we stopped the machine, because the surface of the test-sample was still good and durability was thus considered already excellent enough. And ASTM Standard bristles are quite expensive

As a reference, most washable paints in Italy do not reach 2500 cycles.



We never made such tests with lime-based products, as lime finishes are not washable therefore the test would not represent much. Most likely washability would be low or none.
