I am considering purchasing a home that appears to have venetian plaster. I am interested in the home but I would like to know what I am in for if I decide to remove it.
What are the basic steps and whats needed? Thanks in advance for your help. |

Depends on what it is. Waxed or not, does it have a topcoat. Generally, just sand to give some tooth. Then Prime. Skim with sheetrock if need be.

I adtually have I questin. One of our guests aat the Lunch and Learn asked if we could apply the plaster on a wall that had residue of wallpaper glue. The question was, did the home owner have to clean the walls so well that all the glue was gone. I promised to find that out for her... In some cases as you might know, taking of the glue can be a monsterours undertaking... |

The wallpaper paste could cause a crackle effect. Always wash the paste off. I like to use vinegar, cuts the paste very easy.
