Hey all,
Here is my first board w/finisher. It's not my first primer board. I got a lot of texture in this even with a pretty smooth primer. Should I have pulled tighter? I noticed Doyle on the DVD smoothing back over stuff he'd already applied and he didn't get a whole lot of texture at all. Does Veneziano have to go on pretty fast for that? Please advise!! Thanks Ted |

Here is a side view to show the texture after
the burnish. Is it supposed to have that much? I kind of wonder if I'm not working it too much after I've laid it down. This is a different board, after I've figured out how to get the file size down I'll post more in my gallery. Again, Please Advise!! Thanks Ted |

Kinda looks like you are using long strokes. Try real short strokes with very little material. Hopefully others have some more advice.

Thanks J!,
I was afraid of that, one of the things I'm having to learn about applying this is patience! Thanks! Ted |

You have to take a class or work with someone with experience. The trial and error/dvd approach will be lengthy, at best!

Ted, Its pretty simple. If you dont take the class you will spend tons of money on product to figure out all the finer points of each product. You may still not get it right! If you take the class they will show you the proper way! Then you can use the dvd,s as a refresher and you will say OH YA i remember now! Take the class! its not painful, its fun, but it is hard work. They do work you. Very professional! John

I agree, and I'm going to try and find a way.
How did you guys work it out to pay your bills while you were gone, get to class and pay for it and get back when you were done? Thanks Ted |

Hi Ted:
If you are short on cash and have some friends who like their houses, how about you proposing to them that if they pay for you to take the class, that, you'll go down and become: "classically trained" as a venetian plaster artisan and with the skills you learn - that upon your return you will do a room for them for FREE, IF! --they pay for all the materials needed for their room. That way you can maybe get your class paid for and then you will get a lot of practice when you get back by doing their rooms. Also, if you do a nice job then maybe you can get some referral jobs. Good luck! Love Always, Your idol & mentor, Damiano! '-) |

That is not a bad idea! I'm already making a list
of who to ask in my mind! I'll keep you posted! Thanks Damiano! Ted |

I have to agree that DVD's only do so much. I did my powder bath and living room with another product learned from DVD and I'm going to have to end up redoing the walls because I hate seeing all my mistakes that I learned how to fix in class.
