I have not used that brand, but you should be fine. Outside corners are not a problem.

just keep the corner files down a bit, either by sanding them down with a dull sand block,..or with a wet little sponge.

Try not to leave the corners jagged,..but smooth

consider applying a protective border "upside down" i.e. with the corner towards the center of the column.
It should not compromise the look but should add to the overall solidity of the corner
