Hey all,
I'm wondering what you would suggest as a good
beginner plaster for someone who only has the
video's and hasn't taken the class yet. I've
tried veneziano with less than encouraging results
so far. I know it's only been 9 boards but would
you say a true lime plaster would be better to
start of with?
Thanks
Ted

If you have no experience maybe not the best to start with.

I would try some of the more textural finishes like murs d'art or stucco lugano while you develop your trowel technique. Another cheap option is to use drywall mud and practice your trowel technique (pulling tight, adding interest, skip troweling, etc.) We have a small crew and we started them out on mud. It worked for us.
