I'm looking around for a manufacturer that wouldn't mind sending me a box of them. the only problem is convincing them that they aren't purchased for attempted fraud...thats the only eyebrows I've raised with my inquires. I'll post if I find a good source....

wonder if home depot and the like would be willing to save and then part with the cards they get after they're used-up? maybe could talk with the manager and explain the reason for wanting them, then, tell him for every card s/he saves, up to a reasonable sum, that (applicator) would buy $10 of gift cards for each card made available. as in, get me ten of those things and i'll buy $100 worth of gift cards if yeh give 'em to me...

until a better source comes along could probably get a bundle, if not just for the asking, then through incentive in that way... i mean, the ladies -- THEY could probably get them just for the asking; but the dudes - we would have to get extorted.

I've thought of that idea Damian but at Lowe's they shot me down....I see their point though, its too much trouble for them to set the old cards aside when they have 10 people in line waiting to be helped....

Greg, I can't thank you enough for telling me about that incredible plaster tool known to others as a credit card. My corners, tight spaces, light switch and outlet covers have never looked better.

I just sand a small bevel into one side (edge) of the credit card with 220 grit, then I clean it up with 400 and 600 grit....eventually they break but they have become a mainstay for me.

I'm plastering over hammered cast iron (and painted) lettering along a 7' long 4" wide spot above the fireplace in a restaurant where the lettering says "good food, good wine, good friends" in italian. I'm doing stucco valentino without the recessed areas...and pulling my hair out trying to get it smooth. Unfortunately, not even the credit card trick could fix this issue, still had to use my fingers because there are also cast iron florets sticking out 1". I taped off the lettering, used a razor to cut off the excess, and trowelled right over them. Then I used the rubber trowels to smooth off the excess. I'll post pics when done.

Terry,
You could look into Tadelakt for plastering the shower floor with...but it's labor intensive and requires training from what I've heard.

Frank - give the school a call on pricing and per day yield. Everyone is different depending on their level of experience.
