Doyle,
Down here in Florida you know we have Knock/ Down texture. So selling a textured effect is highly unlikly.Recenlly i came across a large Builder who wanted a effect other than Sprayed knock/down texture. So i had the Knock/Down guys spray a heavy k/d texture, then i had 8 guys with stainless trowels move the material around to achieve an old world texture . This may not be a Venetian plaster job ,but 60 houses of a new knock down texture designed by yours truly is sweet. With out your class i would of never had the ideas to achieve this effect. Thanks Doyle

Iam glad you asked!
Some states have never seen a Knock/Down Texture. Here in Fla. popcorn texture and orange peel texture was used in all houses and condos. Some time in the early eightys the idea of removing the tip off the orange peel gun and spraying the walls and ceilings with a heavy splatter emerged. After spraying this heavy splatter they would let this splatter hang off the ceiling and walls until it tacked up some. Then by using a large plastic knife ,YOU WOULD KNOCK IT DOWN. Hence the word KNOCK / DOWN TEXTURE.Now here is the tricky part. This texture in its infancy was an extra to homeowners. Now beacause of its ability to hide drywall finishing defects ,this texture is applied to all new homes ,no charge. Making the walls smooth is now an extra.

Oh- I see, I actually think they are starting to do that up here in some of the newer homes. If it is what I think it is, I don't really care for it because it limits the finish ability. Boo Hiss... No jobbie for me. by the way, I figured out why your name sounds familiar,
Later-
