Generally you use what the clients want.

Some of the finishes are more suitable for some rooms than others.

This may depend on the use of the room or it's location. Whether it's damp or dry can be a factor also.

If the plaster is shiny or matt can make a difference too.

When seen in person, the answer is more apparent.



All colors are available for all plasters, but not all intensities will work for all.

Because lime can not hold as much pigment as resin, colors for unmodified lime plasters are light to medium in intensity.
