Frank11....what product will you be using? Is the crest very detailed? Will you be making your own stencil or is there one available. I have done it both ways, where it is flat with the wall and where it is raised. Give us some details on which product or how you plan to do it and then may be better able to give advice. I have also made my own stencil and had them made for me.

hi melody thanks very much for the reply
i will be using oikos polished plaster called raffillo which i am pretty sure is a modified lime product ,the crest is quite detailed will probably use two stencils to complete job ,i am in the process of making enquirys regarding having the stencils made for me, with regards to my plan on how to complete the job i was hoping i could have the logo within the wall so to touch , you would not feel the logo but the logo would be very apparente on the wall ,is this possible many thanks frank

Frank, not sure of the Oikos product, but if it is like Veneziano and can be polished to a good shine, then I would try a sample and do a layer of that, then a design stencil to represent your logo, trowel the Oikos in what ever color it needs to be to be the logo. I would burnish the logo to a very nice shine so that when you go over the whole wall with another coat of the Oikos it will not stick to the logo part as well. I'm not sure how intricate your logo is but when you are doing your final coat on the wall to embed the stencil, mabe you can just go slightly over the edges of the logo and then wash any film that got on the logo ...ever so lightly to not change the level of the plaster. That should give you a feel of a one level wall as you run your hand over the wall & logo. If the logo is very intricate where the base of the wall shows through in a lot of areas, then you would have to trowel over the whole logo, then clean the areas where it left a film on the logo...being careful not to wipe away what isn't logo. You are just basically filling in all around your stencil to make it the same level. I personally would thin the last coat if possible so that it would be a little more transparent or use the product untinted...hard to say when i am not even sure what it is....I will try to look it up and read. Hope this might help.
