It was actually quite disappointing in that only every once in great awhile you'd get a glimpse of a beautiful column. But much focus was on the caterer that made the miniature appetizers (of course now remember this IS the food channel which I should NOT be watching but that's another page)....anyway, what I COULD see from the brief flashes of architecture were some mighty fine columns!! Definitely worth tuning in just for that!

We had no idea what we would see. But those mini burgers were pretty cool.

people's court is on right now and a venetian plaster applicator is being taken to court by the homeowner. get this, he was using home depot's venetian plaster and had given the client an older brochure and the company had changed the plaster color formulas (i mean they really changed the plaster color formula) and kept the same name of the previous color. the guy put on a pink instead of beige, same name, different color. hold on for the verdict...(the guy is a real lying jerk)...and has to give back the whole thing, there was also a problem with his paint job on the rest of the project. $1,620.00 thought you'd get a kick out of the latest mishaps of those who do not use safra products and their trained applicators.

an unethical applicator of venetian plaster did a lousy job using an inferior product and got nailed by judge marilyn milan on the people's court tv show. he even went so far as to call the homeowner and claim his wife had a heart attack to avoid going back and correcting his shoddy work. but the thing that got my attention was he was using home depot's venetian plaster and it was rough and the wrong color. it seems this guy had an older brouchure and who ever manufactures the venetian plaster, i think it is behr, updated their color formulas and brouchures, but kept the same name (completely changed the color). the homeowner wanted the old world color which on the pamphlet he showed her looked beige, they (behr) changed the color formula of old world to where it is now a pink color but kept the name the same (not smart). the homeowner had other issues with the guy and ended up getting all of her money that she had paid the guy for the job back. the guy really came off as a lying jerk. i had the tv on for background noise and just happened to catch the judge talking about venetian plaster and started watching it. the applicator even told the judge the venetian plaster was suppposed to be rough, now i don't know about the rest of these other so-called venetian plasters, but i know ours is smooth and shiny and the word rough has never been uttered in regards to our veneziano plaster portion of any of our italian plaster presentations. i hated to see the applicator up there with a problem with his venetian plaster job because i fear most homeowners and design professionals may not realize that there is venetian plaster and then there is our italian plasters. apples and oranges, nght and day, ying and yang...

Well the columns look great from a distance, did you do the outside columns as well ?
Food looked good as well Now on the Court TV behr products, Thats life you get what you pay for. unfortunatly this was an untrained person. All tho, Apples to peanuts is what I think, Faux is nice but the real deal is always better. there is a difference from a Jaguar in your drive way and a poster on the wall. I just shake my head when people say, my relative can do the same thing with products from wal-mart or home depot and so much cheaper...lol It's NOT the same. Too many people want the best for cheap. On a old comment, thats why it is so hard to find level 5 Smooth Walls, people want them for free.. costs more, so most drywall contractors now call level 5 a smooth (but not Flat) wall. Sad. and they get the drywall bids because they are cheaper than the True level 5 's. Too bad linda, doyle, and Louis didnt get to eat the good food at the reception, though. Stephen Huls |
