I bought some faux venetian plaster called Valspar from Lowes, its more like paint, nasty. Does anyone know a good dealer in North Carolina? Is there a vast difference between application and quaility finish betweem faux and the Venetian plasters?

What day rate do you charge for this type of work also.

Trowlman....the faux venetian plasters in my opinion just don't stand up against the real thing. If you can, call the school, and order a DVD on the Veneziano and order what you need to try it out...believe me, you will be sold once you get to compare the two. Taking a class would be the ultimate thing to do, but in the meantime, start there, now that they have offered that option. In the past you had to take the class to get the product and be trained in how to apply correctly, but now you have the option of purchasing a DVD and off you go.....Good luck...Melody

Oh my gosh! I'm doing a job for a freind/client who has a lot of Behr vp given to him. I used a lot of it years ago before safra, but don't recall too much I guess. Because I'm disgusted at the results! Even after the training and practice and multiple jobs on various other products products. I am no stranger to a trowel. It's like colored acrylic caulking. The look is so plastic-ey and one-dimentional.

You've got to try some real lime and marble plasters.... no comparison.

doing this job right now is like going to a fine Italian culinary school and then having someone ask me to use my skills to make them some spaghetti-os!

Cute Jason...great comparison. By the way...I checked out your site...love your work! Trowlman...get some "real" veneziano and let me know what you think.....you will be amazed at the difference!
